Heavy rainfall in forecast this weekend

Several rounds of showers and storms are expected through the weekend. There is potential for heavy rainfall and flooding, especially with a system affecting the region Saturday night into Sunday.

The latest forecast:

Today: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 62. East wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

 

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 8 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., then a chance of showers after 2 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 56. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

 

Saturday: A chance of showers, mainly after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 72. Northeast wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

 

Saturday Night: Showers, mainly after 8 p.m. Low around 54. Northeast wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

 

Sunday: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 63. East wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

 

Sunday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
