May 3, 1966 — A sweep in the final event, the broad jump, lifts Panther Valley’s track and field team to a 58-51 victory over West Hazleton. Steve Rajnic wins the event with a distance of 18-10, while Len Macalush and Bill Reese take second and third. The Panthers also receive firsts from six other individuals. They included Stan Williams (mile), Jack Prekopa (220), Bob Thomas (100), Danny Novak (javelin), Bob Conway (high jump) and Terry Mackay (pole vault).
