The Anthracite Lansford Little League, consisting of four T-ball teams, four softball teams and seven baseball teams, held its official opening last Saturday at the Mike Turrano Memorial Complex in Lansford. World War II veteran George Brimmer, who was a Little League coach at one time, threw out the ceremonial first pitch while youngsters who will be graduating from the program this year stood behind him at the pitcher’s mound. Angela Nardini sang the national anthem. Richard Pogwist, commander of the Lansford American Legion Post, served as the master of ceremonies.
