A look back: May 6, 1999

The Panther Valley Daughters of Mary gathered at Sacred Heart Church in Nesquehoning for the 42nd annual Mass and banquet.

The Rev. Edward Coleman, pastor of the host church, celebrated the Mass and was assisted by the Right Rev. Monsignor John McCann, the Rev. Stephen Halabura, the Rev. Thomas Derzack and the Rev. Michael Kuriak.

During the banquet, Isabel W. Zickler, president, welcomed the group. Other officers of the Daughters are Irene Melnick, vice president; Betty Morgans, secretary; and Tillie Lakata, treasurer.

McCann, son of Jane McCann of Nesquehoning and the late Jack McCann, was the guest speaker.
