Andreas man cited for theft and drugs
Tamaqua police cited Jarred Muffley, 23, of 830 Ridge Road, Andreas, in connection with the theft of collectible coins.
Muffley was at a home on Schuylkill Avenue when a resident noticed he had a flashlight just like the one in her purse. When she checked in her purse, she discovered her flashlight was missing, as was a key to a safe. She then checked the safe and discovered her coin collection was also gone.
Muffley had left the house before she discovered the theft.
Police made contact with him a bit later on West Broad Street. When asked if he knew anything about the missing coins, he admitted they were in his bag. Also in the bag were two hypodermic needles, a silver vial with several unknown pills and a clear vial with white powder residue.
Muffley was charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.
