A look back: May 20, 1982

Mrs. John Ozalas and Thomas Durnin were honored by the Palmerton Area Democratic Club at its candidates’ night program held in the Blue Ridge Country Club. They received a modern clock for their contributions to the party.

Durnin is serving as Democratic chairman of the party for Carbon County while Mrs. Ozalas was cited for her contributions over the past 30 years, including serving on the executive board, as area chairman, and giving of her time to many other charitable activities in the Palmerton area.

Both she and her husband have served the Democratic Party for a combined 38 years.
