Published November 07. 2016 11:40AM

The 12th annual Holiday Arts Festival at Skytop Lodge, 1 Skytop Lodge Road in Skytop, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 26 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 27.

Attendees can meet the artists and artisans who have created the pieces, and chat with them about their processes.

The collection of handcrafted work will include: functional and artistic pottery, wood-turned work; metalwork, fused and stained glass; decorative painting and jewelry in a variety of styles and mediums; furniture and wood accessories for the home; and women's apparel and accessories.

The fine arts will be represented by photographers working in traditional and digitally enhanced modes, and by artists whose work ranges over a wide variety of styles and mediums, including watercolor, oil, acrylics and mixed media.

The event will also showcase the artwork of students from the Pocono Homeschoolers Association and Evergreen School.

This year's emerging artist is Christina Sagheddu, a junior at Notre Dame High School. After one of her portraits was discovered on social media, Sagheddu was commissioned to illustrate a children's book which is to be released in a few months. The book is about a sick tree that befriends a little boy who helps him carry out his "dying wish," to draw and document all of the unusual trees in a mythical forest. Christina's drawings of the fictional trees will be featured throughout the story.
