Deer causes crash on I-81 in Schuylkill

State police at Frackville reported investigating a one-vehicle crash at 7:12 a.m. on Friday along Interstate 81 in Butler Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Jason A. Wright, 39, of Valley View, Schuylkill County, was driving a 2016 GMC Sierra truck northbound when a deer entered the road in front of him. Wright attempted to stop, but struck the deer with the front end of his truck causing major damages.

Wright sustained a minor injury but did not require medical attention. His two passengers, two girls, ages 2 and 3, were not injured.
