Man hunting too close to roadway

Kevin Elmer Meckes, 63, of Lehighton, has been charged by state police at the Lehighton barracks with a game law violation for having fired a shot while hunting too close to a roadway.

Police said the incident happened at 6 p.m. Nov. 10 atan Oak Street, Lower Towamensing Township, location.

Police said it is alleged Meckes was observed shooting at a pheasant in a tree along the roadway. Police said the violation is for having discharged the gun within 25 yards of a public roadway.
