Lehighton man facing charges of DUI

A 32-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop made by state police at the Lehighton barracks at 6:42 p.m.Monday in the area of Second and North streets in Lehighton.

Police said they stopped the man for committing a traffic violation, after which time police said they suspected he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

The man was transported for a blood test. The charges are pending laboratory test results.
