Schuylkill commissioners award contract for blinds

Blinds to Show of Auburn, the lone bidder, will receive $26,943.98 to replace window blinds in the Schuylkill County Courthouse. The blinds will be replaced in all courtrooms, hearing rooms, identified chambers and hallways on the second and third floor of the courthouse. The board had sought bids in early March, but rejected all bids received at that time.

The Schuylkill County Commissioners awarded the bid during a meeting Wednesday. In other action the board:

• Approved a referral agreement with Lehigh Valley Health Network for two years, retroactive to May 9 for the For the Adult Probation Office.

• Awarded a $13,562 contract to MEI Demo & Excavation Inc. for a demolition project at 312 McKnight St., Gordon.

• Entered into a lease agreement with Seider’s Hill for rental space for the offices of the Conservation District and the Agricultural Extension. The space totals 7,490 square feet. The monthly rate is $9,120, or $14.61 per square feet. The lease will run from Sept. 1, 2019, through Aug. 31, 2026, and is a 2 percent increase from the previous term. The lease agreement includes an option to purchase or opt out of the lease.
