Legion Post purchases armor shields for police

    The American Legion CH Berry Post 173 in Tamaqua purchased 16 lightweight, quick-deploy armor shields for multiple area police departments, including Tamaqua, West Penn, Rush and Ryan townships. The Legion spent roughly $2,000 in the effort. One regular member donated an additional significant amount. The local departments were on site to receive their new shields last Friday.
