Carbon woman admits stealing from family
A Carbon County woman admitted in the county court on Thursday to stealing from a family member.
Gina Marie Raczkowski, 28, of Lansford, pleaded guilty in two pending cases involving theft and forgery before Judge Steven R. Serfass.
She was charged by Jim Thorpe police with taking blank checks from her mother and then attempting to cash them. One check was cashed for $300. In another case more than $1,800 was taken. In one case she was charged with 14 criminal counts of forgery. All those charges were dropped in a plea deal with the district attorney’s office.
Assistant District Attorney Seth Miller said the defendant’s mother did not want to pursue the more serious charges against her daughter, so several felony counts were dropped.
Serfass placed her on probation on the two counts for a year, with the terms running consecutively, and ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, render a total of 100 hours of community service, make restitution of $1,820, pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation.

Good morning. Wow, someone shows character and admits to wrongdoing when caught. As a result they agree to pay back the mistake and gets themselves help. The system works when there is an enforcement of character upon those that have made a mistake.
Director Andrew Yenser was caught not ethically doing his job as treasurer of the Lehighton Area School District. Where is his character? Treasurers volunteer to accept the moral responsibility to oversee the millions of dollars of expenditures at a school district. His job was to just to VERIFY every expenditure, basically look at proposed payment, ask why and say yes or no. Where is our apology Mr. Yenser?
This rubber-stamper, blindly trusted the administration he was elected to oversee.
Where is your character Mr. Yenser? Why did you drag your family's name through the mud? I, for one, am glad you are getting out of being a politician. Without the character to do a good job, with fidelity, your evil actions and lack of actions, have cost the district plenty apparently including the need for a forensic audit. Geez, just look at the mess Mr. Yenser has left.
Sincerely,
Citizen David F. Bradley Sr.
