A look back: July 6, 1989
The Department of Labor and Industry recently opened its newest job center in Tamaqua to offer a one-stop source of employment-related services for area job seekers and employers.
The office, located at 51 W. Broad St., will provide information on job training, social services, counseling and unemployment compensation to help residents gain the skills they need to find a new or better job.
Thomas Mullahey, manager of the job center, was joined by William J. Lalley, the department’s regional director, and Mark Rosenbaum, director of the Office of Labor Management Cooperation, at the opening ceremony.
