Carbon woman victim of theft

A Carbon County woman, and a man from Lehigh County, are the victims of an identity theft incident.

State police at Fogelsville said someone obtained the biographical information of a 63-year-old Lehighton woman and a 57-year-old New Tripoli man. The suspect then opened a MyLowe’s credit card in the Lehighton woman’s name. and went to the Lowe’s store along Blakeslee Boulevard in Mahoning Township on June 30 and purchased 28 items using the credit card. The suspect used the military discount of the New Tripoli man when he made the purchases. Total amount of the purchases was $63.23. The investigation is continuing. Troopers said there was no monetary loss to either victim.
