Pedestrians and motorists along Schuylkill Avenue in Tamaqua couldn’t miss this oversized reminder on Sunday, although it’s likely they already knew about the high temperatures, which soared to the upper 90s with high humidity. The sign was placed by resident Jim Rolland, who said he salvaged the tin and plastic advertising letters when a Redner’s Market in Shenandoah was remodeled. DONALD R. Temperatures ranged in the low to mid-90s this weekend, forcing some people to stay inside this weekend. Others weren’t going to let a weekend go by without mowing the grass or making sun tea. The high temperatures did have a few people commenting on social media that they were wishing for snow. The weather will be more comfortable this week, with temperatures in the low 80s.
