A look back: July 22, 2002

Wood Dining Services/Sodexo, Allentown, will fully fund the expansion of the food service area of the cafeteria at the St. Luke’s Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, according to Robert Palumbo, district manager of the company.

During a check presentation ceremony held at the hospital, he presented $12,350 to the hospital to enlarge the service area and add a deli sandwich bar that will make sandwiches to order. The new deli bar will add one full-time and one part-time employee to the food service staff.

The addition is expected to draw more customers and boost income for both the cafeteria and Wood, which provides the vittles sold there.
