Student comes to school drunk

State police at Frackville are investigating an incident at the Schuylkill Intermediate school located at 101 Technology Drive, in New Castle Township.

Troopers said a 17-year-old female from Mahanoy City arrived at the school under the influence of alcohol.

School staff members noticed she had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, slurred speech and glassy eyes.

She was issued a citation for underage drinking, troopers said.
