A look back: July 26, 1978

William R. Mason of Jim Thorpe has been appointed by the Carbon County Commissioners to serve on the Tri-County Mental Health-Mental Retardation Advisory Board.

Mason, former director of the Carbon County Children’s Services Bureau, and now with the Mental Health Department of the Muhlenberg Medical Center, Allentown, will serve during the unexpired term, of the late R. Newton Davenport, Lehighton.

The appointment was made by Samuel L. Dolgopol, of Lehighton, advisory board chairman, who said Mason’s “attributes are numerous and his commitment to the multi-disciplinary efforts of our MH-MR program will be a worthy and viable asset.”
