Coaldale man jailed for theft

A Coaldale man has been jailed on theft charges.

State police at Frackville said Paul Weirich, 32, entered the Walmart store in Rush Township at 6:56 p.m. Wednesday and was observed marking merchandise to a lower price. He then paid for the items at the lower price. He was then detained by store personnel.

Weirich was arraigned on a felony retail theft charge before District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, and jailed in the Schuylkill County prison after failing to post $2,500 cash bail.
