Schuylkill man dies in crash

A Schuylkill County man died in a one-vehicle crash on Sunday night.

State police at Schuylkill Haven identified the victim as Keith E. Eichert, 50, of Tremont.

According to troopers, Eichert was operating a 1991 GMC Sonoma pickup truck southbound on Route 209 in Reilly Township, at 9:11 p.m. when the truck left the road and traveled 158 feet before hitting a large tree. After hitting the tree the truck rotated counterclockwise about 30 degrees coming to final rest facing east.

Eichert was pronounced dead at the scene by a member of the county coroner’s office, troopers said.
