Weatherly man dies of self-inflicted gunshot wound

A Weatherly man died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest on Saturday.

The incident occurred after 11 a.m. at the Pennsylvania State Game Commission rifle range near Nesquehoning.

Carbon County Coroner Robert Miller confirmed the identity of the deceased as Joshua Naegele, 20.

Naegele was pronounced dead at the scene by a Carbon County deputy coroner at 12:40 p.m. Saturday.

Game Commission spokesman Travis Lau said there were other people on scene who were attempting to help the victim.

Lau said the investigation is ongoing.

What's the narrative here? Why did the Times News change this heading. It originally surfaced as a shooting at the Broad Mtn. gun range. Now it's a suicide.
