Carbon County court — ARD

Three first-time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Monday by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

Placed were the following:

Jason William Fegley, 18, of Nesquehoning, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was arrested by Nesquehoning police on April 19 in the 100 block of West Mill Street.

He was assessed $450 for the cost of the program and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment.

Cristian Michael Linares, 29, of Allentown, was placed for a year on a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on July 29, 2017, by Palmerton police along Delaware Avenue. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $600, his license was suspended for 60 days and he must follow any recommendation of his drug and alcohol evaluation.

Chanse Scott Walden, 18, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on Dec. 29, 2018, by state police at Lehighton along East Lizard Creek Road in East Penn Township.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
