2 taken to hospital from Penn Forest crash

Firefighters from Penn Forest Township had to extricate one of the victims of a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning along Route 534.

It appeared a car traveling west struck a sport utility vehicle broadside as it pulled out of a private driveway. The injured were treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a trauma center.

Penn Forest fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. State police at Fern Ridge are investigating the incident.
