Schuylkill Historical society hosts bus trip

The Schuylkill County Historical Society is running an all-day bus tour of the site of the key Civil War Battle of Antietam in Sharpsburg, Maryland, on Sept. 28.

Society board member Tom Shay will lead the tour, focusing on the role of Schuylkill County’s 48th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment.

The bus will leave the Cressona Giant parking lot at 7 a.m., arrive at the battlefield by 10 a.m. and return home at about 8:30 p.m. There is a fee and includes lunch. Dinner is not included.
