Northern Lehigh School Board personnel

Northern Lehigh School Board, on a 6-0 vote, with directors Mathias Green, Robin Distler, and Michele Martineau absent, approved the following personnel matters on Monday:

• The administrative transfer of Amanda Grozier from Slatington Elementary PCA to Peters Elementary PCA, at no change in salary, effective Sept. 3.

• The resignation of Aubrey Miller as districtwide permanent substitute teacher, effective Aug. 21.

• The resignation of Frank Gnas, sophomore class adviser, $712, for the 2019-20 season that was originally approved at the Aug. 12 board meeting. The board then approved Jessica Frew as sophomore class adviser, $712.

• The appointments of Ashley King, substitute teacher caller, $8,500 (prorated) per year/190 days per year, effective Sept. 17; Megan Farkas, high school emotional support paraprofessional, $12.58 per hour, 5¾ hours per day, five days per week/180 days per year, effective Sept. 3; and Kellie Bechtel, Peters Elementary cafeteria monitor, $11.48 per hour, two hours per day, five days per week/180 days per year, effective Sept. 3.

• The appointments of substitute teachers Ricky Guth, Social Studies, and Jenna Martin, elementary PK-6, for the 2019-20 substitute teacher rates as approved on the Supplementary Personnel Salary Schedule.

• Renewed the appointment of Kimberly Deprill, as substitute secretary/paraprofessional, and substitute custodian worker for the 2019-20 school year at the 2019-20 substitute rate as approved on the Supplemental Personnel Salary Schedule.

• Margaret Blose, Deborah Geiger, Sharon Karpiszin, Dawn Mayer, Janet McKelvey, Gina Serfass, Elizabeth Vasquez and Nancy Wagner as unpaid volunteer aides in the Peters and/or Slatington Elementary School, and middle school, for the 2019-20 school year.

• Stipends for Andrew Kern in the amount of $500 for high school website maintenance and working with students, to be funded from the general fund high school student activities fund, $1,000 for maintenance and updates of the district website, to be funded by the superintendent’s budget, and $500 for middle school website maintenance and working with students, all during the 2019-20 school year; $500 for Janet Bashore for maintenance and updates of the Peters Elementary website, to be funded by the Peters Elementary principal’s discretionary account; and $500 for Kori Dibilio for maintenance and upgrade of the Slatington Elementary website, to be funded by the Slatington Elementary principal’s discretionary account, all for the 2019-20 school year. Board President Gary Fedorcha abstained from the vote as it pertained to Dibilio.

• Approved bus drivers Paul Gass and Brian Geiger from Brandywine Transportation to transport Northern Lehigh School District students for the 2019-20 school year.
