A Nesquehoning woman has been charged after a vehicle stop uncovered a large amount of heroin.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Jarrod Bulger of the Lansford Borough Police Department:

Bulger had information thatTara Hertzog, 35, of the 400 block of West Catawissa Street, who had an outstanding warrant out of the Carbon County Sheriff’s office, would be leaving her home Tuesday, and she would have heroin.

Summit Hill police officer Kodie Pituch pulled over her vehicle on Laurel Drive and East White Bear Drive in Summit Hill.

When Hertzog got out, she was carrying a large number of glassine bags.

In total there were 50 plain white glassine bags of suspected heroin, packaged and separated into groups of 10.

The heroin weighed 11.10 grams.

Hertzog faces charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail, and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Sept. 25 before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr. of Weatherly.

Comments
$50000 Bail for a person addicted to heroin with what is around an amount someone with a bad addiction might use in a day. While they let a pervert and child molester walk on $10000 unsecured bail. And that's after it even said in the article that he told his victim he was planning on moving. Anyone else see the problem here.
The sad part is the police will turn this addict into a confidential informant just like the person that narced on her. They will watch as she destroys herself and puts her life in danger just for a few arrests of low level street dealers/addicts.
