Franklin hears complaints about ducks

A Franklin Township woman is fed up with ducks that belong to a neighboring property owner.

Jackie Kaspern, of Birch Drive, told supervisors on Wednesday that there are white ducks that are located in a tent near her property line.

Kaspern said that per her deed, there are to be no farm animals.

“It’s not agricultural,” Kaspern said. “She feeds them at night.”

Kaspern said she noticed the situation a few months ago.

“Then the structure started going up, and I got concerned,” she said. “Now, they’re two full-grown white ducks.”

Board Chairman Jason Frey shared his thoughts on the matter.

“I would consider it a permanent structure,” Frey said. “I don’t think there’s any kind of ordinance we have.”

Kaspern said regardless, farm animals are not allowed per her deed.

“I’ve had enough with it,” she said. “I just feel bad for the animals.”

Supervisor Barbara Beltz said the board would discuss the matter with township zoning officer Tracy Herman.

Ducks are not farm animals you old hagg. Obviously your not happy unless your brings others down! Just do society a favor and wither away.
C’mon lady, are you serious? Instead of being a rights fighter, try being human. Someone’s feeding ducks and giving them shelter, wow - are they attacking you whenever you’re outside? WTH would you do if it was a deer or a squirrel walking near your property line? You’re ridiculous and petty. Put your energy into something beneficial to your community instead of something so frivolous.
I am unclear why Jackie feels "feeding them at night" is pertinent. Also, I have viewed the structure. It is not a tent, it is solid and made with wire. The ducks also have a wooden structure for safety from the elements. The adjoining property that she is complaining about is well kept and poses no health hazards. The wire structure is not on any border that I can see either. Her neighbors are responsible people and have a love for nature and living creatures. Perhaps if Jackie were more open minded, she would be able to see things differently.
Sounds like two well cared for and well loved pet ducks to me! Perhaps all of her neighbors should see about getting some pet roosters! (just kidding, kind of) Chickens and ducks are really cool pets.
Wow! You are a Rotten person! Those poor ducks could wind up losing the only home they have ever known and risk being killed or separated from one another. You hate ducks? What the heck is the matter with you? And your "deed" doesn't tell a person whether ducks are allowed (idiot). Do you hate a morning sunrise, a cool spring day, a baby deer? Again, Wither away old hag!
What a waste of township resources and taxpayer money. It sounds to me as if someone has way too much time on her hands. Perhaps crocheting would be a better hobby than finding dumb s@#t to complain about. Does she file complaints with the attorney general when geese fly over her house and poop on her lawn?
