A look back: Oct. 8, 1971

Mrs. Lucy Breslin was named “Senior Citizen of the Year” last night by the Summit Hill Senior Citizens Club, which honored her at a dinner attended by about 100 people at the American Legion Post Home, Summit Hill.

The widow of George W. Breslin, organizer and first president of the Summit Hill Senior Citizens Activities Center, she was bestowed the honor in recognition and appreciation of her faithful service as secretary of the group.

Breslin is a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a past president of the Women’s Guild of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Summit Hill Women’s Club, and serves on the board of the Carbon County Red Cross.
