Neffs National Bank plans to build branch in Walnutport

A long-standing financial institution hopes to broaden its horizons with the eventual addition of a new branch.
Neffs National Bank filed an application with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for permission to establish a full-service branch at 211 Best Ave., Walnutport.
Contacted Tuesday morning, Kevin Schmidt, President & CEO of Neffs National Bank, confirmed its intentions.
“The bank did apply for a branch permit,” Schmidt said. “It’s subject to our due diligence in the property.”
Schmidt added, “At this point, we are in the due diligence period, and we applied with the regulatories for that location.
“We always consider all of our options,” he said. “(We thought) it might be a good opportunity to further our physical footprint to further serve the community.”
The bank’s current branch at 5629 Route 873 in Neffs was formed in 1923.
