    The 51st annual banquet of the Vietnam Last Man’s Club of the Lehighton American Legion Post was held on Oct. 5 at the Post. Officers are, from left, David Bryfogle, secretary-treasurer; Dale Nansteel, president; Glenn “Smoky” Troutman, vice president; Susan Snyder, chaplain; and Curt Snyder, who was a fill-in for the guest speaker, reading the speech of the scheduled speaker. The speaker was scheduled to be Kevin “Spike” Long, commander of the Lehighton United Veterans Organization, but he had to cancel because of illness. How Special to have this Banquet. I watched the TV PBS documentary on the Vietnam War by Ken Burns. It can be purchased too. One itsy, bitsy thing our Government did learn after that War, was to make sure the public got a sanitized viewing of death, destruction and hell. Gotta protect your image.
