A look back: Oct. 12, 1970

Dr. Marvin Snyder, chief of staff, and Arthur R. Stout, administrator, today announced the appointment of John E. Steele, M.D., to the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital’s medical staff.

Dr. Steele, the son of Dr. James Steele of Mahoning Valley, former chief of the medical staff at the Coaldale Hospital, is a graduate of Ursinus College and the Jefferson Medical College. He interned and completed his residency requirements at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

A specialist in internal medicine, he has opened an office at Second and South streets in Lehighton.

He and his wife, Louisa, and their children, are residing at Ebberts Park, in Lehighton.
