Man cited after storming field at Pocono youth football game
A Lehigh County man has been cited for an incident at a youth football game in the Poconos.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers were called at 12:44 p.m. Sunday to the Clear Run Intermediate School where a youth football game was being played on a field behind the school.
Callers reported an irate parent stormed onto the field after what he thought was a poor non-call penalty. The man, identified as Juan Roberto Rodriguez, 31, of Allentown, took the field to confront an 8-year-old player for the opposing team. Rodriquez disregarded the rope fence which separated the field from the spectators and grabbed the boy by the arm sternly and pulled him. Opposing team parents got involved verbally until police were called by a parent from Rodriquez’s team.
Rodriguez was ejected from the school property and the league has banned him from all future events.
Pocono police said he is facing charges of harassment, disorderly conduct and trespass.
