Franklin to again apply CDBG funds toward water/drainage improvements
Much like last year, Franklin Township will apply this year’s batch of Community Development Block Grant funds toward water/drainage improvements.
Supervisors unanimously agreed on Tuesday to approve the general application for the funding year of 2019 for street improvements, Phase 3, for the Red Hill Road water/drainage improvements.
That came after the board held a public hearing conducted by Jennifer Hunsicker of the Carbon County Office of Planning.
Hunsicker said the current anticipated amount the township will receive in CDBG funds is $92,905.
Of that, $76,183 is for project costs, while the other $16,722 is for administrative costs.
The project selected for fiscal year 2019 is water/drainage improvements to Red Hill Road, Phase 3.
Over the next three years, the township plans to continue street improvements and drainage improvements to Red Hill Road.
The CDBG application is due on or before Nov. 22.
