Tax collectors participate in training

The 61st annual convention of the Pennsylvania State Tax Collectors Association was held Oct. 11-12 at the York Wyndham Garden Hotel.

The convention provided the opportunity for qualified tax collectors to obtain the continuing professional education credits required by Act 48-2015. As stated in Act 48-2015 “Renewal of qualification shall be completed prior to the tax collector’s final year in office. If the tax collector fails to complete the continuing education requirements, the tax collector shall be deemed ineligible to be placed on the ballot at the end of the tax collector’s term of office.”

Attendees from Carbon County included Kim Ginopolas, Kidder Township (Weatherly and Jim Thorpe School Districts); Deborah A. Kohler, Weatherly Borough (Weatherly School District); Pauline F. Homm, Mahoning Township (Lehighton School District); Sara J. Keiser, Franklin Township (Lehighton School District); and Mary E. Strohl, Lehighton Borough (Lehighton School District).

The 62nd annual convention is planned for Oct. 9-10, 2020, at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg-Hershey at Grantville.
