Police make drug arrests
Pocono Mountain Regional Police report the following incidents:
• Austin C. Lamarco, 21, of Pocono Summit, was arrested on drug-related charges, including possession with intent to deliver, after he was stopped while speeding in his vehicle at 2:25 a.m. Dec. 19 on Route 940 in Monroe County.
Police said they saw two vehicles that appeared to be racing and later stopped the lead vehicle which they said was traveling 68 mph in a 45 mph zone at the intersection of Route 940 and Summit Avenue in Coolbaugh Township.
Police detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After a search, they found a large quantity of marijuana packaged for sale inside the vehicle.
Lamarco was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, criminal use of a device, possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility.
• Police arrested Brandon J. Meier, 20, of Pocono Summit, with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 1:10 a.m. Dec. 20 on Route 314 at the Kalahari Waterpark entrance.
Meier was stopped for a traffic violation of having tinted taillights.
Police detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and found drugs and paraphernalia.
