A look back: Oct. 29, 1962

Officers of the Archbishop Ryan Council, Knights of Columbus, were installed last night during a ceremony held in the council’s chambers in Lansford.

Seated by the council were Michael O’Connell, grand knight; Joseph Oriel, financial secretary; John S. Coury, recording secretary; Peter Slog, treasurer; the Rev. Michael Morris, chaplain; attorney William Quinn, advocate; George Porvaznik, inside guard; John Thomasovic, outside guard; John Pisklak, lecturer; and Paul Yanchura, John Cannon and Harry Canton, trustees.

Installing officers were William Hofton and William Howells, both of Hazleton, district deputy grand knight and past district deputy grand knight, respectively.
