Banquet venue opens in Barnesville

Hundreds turned out Saturday for an open house at the area’s newest banquet facility, Catalpa Grove Event Venue at Lakewood Park, 26 Park Avenue, Barnesville.

The venue hosts weddings, private parties and corporate events overlooking the 10-acre lake and 54 acres of woods and catalpa trees which were once home to historic Lakewood Park from 1916 to 1984.

Also underway is development of camping facilities.
