2019 general election: Token votes are order of the day in Lehighton
Complimentary votes for four candidates for four four-year terms on the Lehighton Borough Council were cast on Tuesday.
Without opposition, the winners were three incumbents, including Grant Hunsicker, Darryl Arner and Lisa Perry, and newcomer William Rodweller.
Hunsicker appeared on both the Democratic and Republican ballots and led the way with 740 token votes. Arner followed with 677 while Perry finished with 667 and Rodweller tallied 539.
Meanwhile, in nearby Weissport Borough, there was no contest Tuesday. Two candidates ran for two four-year terms and received complimentary votes. They include Arland F. Moyer Sr., who tallied 49 votes, and Linda Schoenberger, 46.
