A Weissport man has been charged with threatening others with an ax.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Chief Matthew Williams of the Weissport Borough Police Department:

At 10:20 p.m. Oct. 30, Williams received a dispatch from the Carbon County Communications Center requesting police response to an apartment in the 200 block of White Street for a report of a man armed with an ax threatening people.

Williams spoke with the caller who said that Timothy Kolb, 43, of the 300 block of Prospect Street, who is her boyfriend, had come to the apartment at around 8:30 p.m., entered her bedroom and became violent toward her, kicking her twice in the ribs.

The victim said that her roommate and another woman were present when Kolb kicked her. They were able to get him to leave the apartment.

Once outside the apartment, the victim said that Kolb stood on the bottom stairway and said, “I’m going to kill that fat pig” referring to one of the victim’s roommates.

Also at that time, the other woman said that Kolb threatened to kill her as well.

At 10:20 p.m., the victim said that Kolb returned to the area and stood in a yard next to the building. He started yelling up to her second floor window, “I’m going to kill you,” because she refused to speak with him.

Kolb faces charges on three counts of terroristic threats, and two counts of harassment.

He is in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail, and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz of Jim Thorpe.
