Two traffic stops result in DUI arrests

Two traffic stops made by state police at Lehighton resulted in the drivers being arrested for driving under the influence.

The first stop happened at 9:17 p.m.Tuesday on Little Gap Road, near 57 Road, in Towamensing Township.

Police said they stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation and then discovered the driver was driving under the influence and had contraband.

Police said a passenger in the vehicle was also found to be wanted by a local police department.

Police did not identify the driver and/or passenger, but they identified the occupants of the vehicle as Stephanie Lynn Blew of Saylorsburg and Anthony Pellegrino of Kunkletown.

The second stop was made at 7:42 p.m.Wednesday in the 300 block of Iron Street, Lehighton. Police said the driver committed summary violations.

The driver, a 27-year-old Lehighton man whose identify was not released, was found to be under the influence.

They took him into custody and for a blood test. The results are pending.
