A look back: Nov. 18, 1992
The sponsoring group of the Carbon County Fair, which is held each year in Lehighton, voted last night to disband, bringing to an end a 118-year-old tradition.
During a meeting held at Dean Anthony’s, Jim Thorpe, the directors of the Carbon County Agricultural Association voted overwhelmingly to dissolve the corporation.
Serving as the final board of directors are Ned Harleman, Ed Zickler, Robert White, Allen Young, Scott Rehrig, attorney William Bayer, Greg Bayer, Ralph Hunsicker, Dr. Horace Obert, Ralph Kunkle, Heinz Rausch, Grant Hunsicker, Steve Everett, Frank Hofford, Kim DePue, Kenneth Phifer, Lois Roth and Barry Bossard.
