Schuylkill adopts preliminary budget with no tax increase

Schuylkill County Commissioners adopted a preliminary budget for 2020 with no tax increase Wednesday morning.

The millage rate remains at 15.98.

Revenue is $57,903,272, with expenditures at $66,141,193.

The shortfall is $8,237,921, will be drawn from unassigned fund balance.

The two biggest increases are in wages up $855,000 and contribution to retirement fund, $471,507.
