Tamaqua tops Wyomissing in state playoffs

Tamaqua is heading to the PIAA Class 3A state semifinals after knocking off Wyomissing, 20-10, Friday night at North Schuylkill High School.
The Blue Raiders, coached by Sam Bonner, held the Spartans scoreless in the second half and used two touchdowns from Nate Boyle to offset a halftime deficit.
The District 11 champions also received a 14-yard scoring pass from Brayden Knoblauch to Matt Kistler in the opening quarter.
Tamaqua, now 12-2 on the season, will face the winner of Montoursville and Wyoming Area next weekend.
