Road line painting revisited in Walnutport

Published November 23. 2019 06:42AM

The matter of road line painting was revisited at a recent Walnutport Borough Council meeting.

This time, it was resident Stephen Enders who questioned council about the lines being painted around town.

“There’s a few issues with inconsistencies of where they’re painted,” Enders said. “Some are 15 feet, some are 20.”

Borough police Chief Pete Wayda explained where the matter stood.

“We are going to go around and pick areas that we feel needs attention,” Wayda said. “We’re going to select areas going forward, so it shouldn’t be a problem.”

Enders’ fiancee, Michaela Chidiac, added, “It would be nice to come home closer to our house.”

Resident Ricky Smith, who last week told council he was upset about a yellow line that’s been painted on the street out in front of his home, said he’s been there for 22 years.

“I lost an entire parking space,” Smith said. “Why the inconsistency?”

Mayor Wayne Weidner said no more lines will be painted again until the spring.
