Annual Toys for Tots drive gets underway

Donations are now being collected for 2019 Toys for Tots Schuylkill-Carbon Marine Corps League Drive. All donations and contributions are for the children of Eastern Schuylkill County and Carbon County.

Drop-off locations for toys include:

• Hiles Bros. Plumbing & Heating, Summit Hill

• Palmerton Garage Doors, Forest Inn Road

• Palmerton Lumber Co., Sand Quarry Road

• R.F. Ohl, Lehighton

• Bowmanstown Borough Building and Carbon Builders Association, Ore Street, Bowmanstown

• American Legion Lehighton Post 314

Registration for Carbon County residents will take place at the Salem Bible Fellowship Church, 1105 Frederick’s Grove Road, Lehighton. Registration is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 30, and Dec. 1, 7 and 8. This is the only location for registration; no phone calls will be accepted. Schuylkill County residents (Tamaqua area) register with the Tamaqua Salvation Army.

To ensure that a family is eligible for Toys for Tots, there must be a letter from your church, proof of public assistance or proof of unemployment.

Only parents or legal guardians are permitted to register children. The person registering the children must have ID for themselves. In addition to this, legal guardians must have proof of guardianship.

You must have a current, local resident, photo ID to prove your Carbon County residency.

For each child to being registered, a birth certificate is required.

The age limit is 14 years, handicapped children 16 years. Please specify disability.
