Credit defaults

The following actions were filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, for alleged defaults on credit card/loan accounts.

CACH, Conshocken, filed an action against Natalia Faenza, 245 W. White St., Summit Hill, seeking $2,573.36.

American Express National Bank, Salt Lake City, Utah, filed an action against Clinton Bachert, 604 E. Second St., Weatherly, seeking $11,174.22.

Midland Funding, Philadelphia, filed an action against Carl Bush, 677 Franklin Ave., Palmerton, seeking $5,544.10.

Hospital bill

Berwick Hospital Company, 701 E. 16 St., Berwick, filed a civil action against Tracy Brotzman, Box 344, Tresckow, alleging she owes a bill for medical services provided. Sought is $1,646.20 plus interest, costs and fees.

Mortgage foreclosures

The following actions were filed as mortgage foreclosures for alleged defaults on loans.

Citizens Bank, c/o 10561 Telegraph Road, Glen Allan, Virginia, filed an action against James D. Clancy Jr., 197 Wylie Circle, Albrightsville, over property at that address. Sought is $119,075.22 and continuing interest.

Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing, Box 19826-0826, Greenville, South Carolina, filed an action against Michael F. and Sandra M. Amerman, 89 Sassafras, Albrightsville, over property at that address. Sought is $76,254.35 and continuing interest.

Prothonotary’s report

A total of 733 cases were started in October in the office of Carbon County Prothonotary Joann M. Behrens, according to a monthly statistical report released by the officeholder. A breakdown of cases is as follows:

Civil actions, 49; custody complaints, 16; complaints to modify custody, 17; district justice appeals, 3; divorce complaints, 17; complaint in ejectment, 1; eminent domain/declarations of taking, 2; license appeals, 3; mortgage foreclosure complaints, 19; complaints in partition, 2; protection from abuse petitions, 28; tax sale, 1; court appointment, 1; judgments, 543; miscellaneous case, 1; stipulations/waivers of liens, 6; and writs of executions, 24. The office also processed 60 applications for U.S. passports and rendered assistance to the public with 15 passport renewal applications.

Behrens’ financial report for October shows $48,345.16 was generated as follows: prothonotary’s fees, $38,398; interest income, $1.21; custody/divorce fees, $1,812.15; PFA Surcharge, Sheriff; $200; PFA Surcharge, Courts; $200; data processing fees, $7,447.80; stenographer fees, $286; remote access fees, $1,200.

The prothonotary also remitted $6,055.23 to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Revenue, representing state fees collected locally, and $81.60 to the Administrative Offices of the Pennsylvania Courts, this being surcharges on new custody cases in accordance with Act 119 of 1996. Another $2,175 was deposited in the Prothonotary’s Automation Fund for future use in automating the office.
