Tamaqua driver uninjured in crash

A Tamaqua driver escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 5:20 p.m. on Monday along Route 209 in Blythe Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Misty A. Hamm, 38, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse northbound when she was distracted. She went off the road and struck a guide rail along the east berm.

The Traverse sustained heavy front end damage and had to be towed. Hamm was wearing a seat belt and the driving air bag was deployed. Hamm was cited for the crash.
