Several defendants received county prison sentences, in decision by Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin on Nov. 21.

Christopher J. Serina, 39, Tamaqua, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance May 18 and use/possession of drug paraphernalia July 25. He was arrested by Tamaqua Police each time. He was sentenced to time served to 12 months and must pay fines and costs totaling $600. He will be on probation for 12 months.

Cody L. Kale, 34, Coaldale pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and was sentenced to four to 12 months. He was arrested by Coaldale Police on May 15.

Michael L. Curry, 31, Lansford, pleaded guilty to DUI stemming from an arrest by Coaldale Police March 8. He will be on probation for six months and must pay fines and costs totaling $550. He must complete the alcohol highway safety school and perform 10 hours community service.

Tyler Matthew Strawdinger, 27, Pottsville pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was sentenced to three to 12 months. He was arrested by Tamaqua Police July 8. His fines and costs total $150.

Jessica N. Carter, 24, Bowmansville, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance stemming from an arrest by Tamaqua Police on Feb. 7. She was sentenced to time served to 12 months and will be on probation for 12 months. Fines and costs total $150.

Admitted to ARD

Baldwin admitted four local defendants into the ARD program on Nov. 21 and 22. If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

Christopher A. Haller, 24, Mahanoy City, who Rush Township Police charged with ethnic intimidation and criminal mischief on April 22. He must pay $350 to defray the cost of ARD plus $758 restitution to a victim. He must perform 10 hours community service.

Raven Mae Mack, 29, Coaldale, was arrested by Coaldale Police on April 6 and charged with hindering apprehension, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a small amount of marijuana. She must pay $350 to defray the cost of ARD plus $300 in fines and costs. She will be on probation for 12 months and must perform 10 hours community service.

Desiree Renee Miller, 42, Weatherly, was arrested for DUI by McAdoo Police on Dec. 6, 2018. She must pay $500 to defray the cost of ARD, plus $425 in fines and costs. She will undergo a 60-day license suspension and must attend alcohol highway safety school. She will be on probation for 12 months and must perform 10 hours community service.

Brian F. Kolbush, 60, Barnesville, was arrested by McAdoo Police for DUI on Oct. 1, 2018. He must pay $500 to defray the cost of the program, plus $300 in fines and costs. He must complete the alcohol highway safety school and perform 10 hours community service.
