Carbon County court – ARD
A total of 17 defendants in pending driving under the influence cases, were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program by Judge Joseph J. Matika recently.
If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.
All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.
Eric Robert Augustine, 31, of Nashville, Tennessee, was arrested by state police at Lehighton on May 18 along Little Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township. A test revealed a 0.12 BAC.
He was assessed $500 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 30 days.
Nicholas Thomas Bauder, 26, of Bethlehem, was arrested on May 21, 2016, by state police at Lehighton along Route 248 at Palmerton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
Scott Bloodgood, 38, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Aug. 31 by state police at Fern Ridge along Route 534 in Kidder Township. A test revealed a 0.09 BAC.
He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.
Larry James Eager, 55, of Drexel Hill, Delaware County, was arrested on May 24 by state police at Lehighton along Route 209 in Franklin Township. He refused a test.
He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
Daleann Hess, 54, of Albrightsville, was arrested on July 26 by state police at Fern Ridge along Route 534 in Kidder Township. A test revealed a 0.12 BAC.
She was assessed $500 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 30 days.
Jean M. Kirk, 61, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested on July 1 along Route 209 in Mahoning Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.29 BAC.
She was assessed $550 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
William John Maurer, 44, of Lindenhurst, New Jersey, was arrested on March 31 by state police at Fern Ridge along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township. A test revealed a 0.17 BAC.
He was assessed $550 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
Eileen McShane, 47, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Jan. 26 by Kidder Township police along Old Stage Road. She refused a test.
She was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
Jose R. Mejia, 28, of Hazleton, was arrested on Sept. 2, 2018, by state police at Lehighton along Route 248 at Parryville. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
William Morales Jr., 55, of Palmerton, was arrested on Feb. 21 by Palmerton police along Delaware Avenue. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
Amber Marie Rascona, 39, of Cresco, was arrested on March 27 by Franklin Township police along Interchange Road. A test revealed a 0.20 BAC.
She was assessed $550 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
Jason Michael Rohrbach, 40, of Lehighton, was arrested on March 14 by Lehighton police along Bridge Street. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.

Michael Edwin Torres, 18, of Allentown, was arrested on July 7 by state police at Lehighton along Pohopoco Drive in Franklin Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 90 days.
Shannon Theresa Tracy, 30, of Effort, was arrested on July 2 by state police at Lehighton along Little Gap Road in Towamensing Township. She refused a test.
She was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
Timothy Joseph Williams, 27, of New Ringgold, was arrested on July 13 by state police at Fern Ridge along Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township. A test revealed a 0.10 BAC.
He was assessed $500 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.
Travis Zanders, 49, of Tamaqua, was arrested on July 13 by state police at Lehighton along Mahoning Mountain Road in Mahoning Township. A test revealed a 0.30 BAC.
He was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.
Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program and follow any recommendation of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
